What started as a small gathering in our apartment nine years ago has grown into a legendary event for our 450 closest friends. Whether you’re in it for the ponies, the prizes, the spectacle of the hats, or the swagger of julep drinkers in seersucker suits, we guarantee a good time and mint juleps for all!
In case you missed them, here are photos from 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009 and 2008.
Schedule of Events
The doors (and bar!) will open at 4:00PM. Arrive in time to enjoy harmonies, strings, and stomps from Kings before the 139th Run for the Roses, which is set for 6:24PM. After the race promenade in our parade of hats and shimmy to hot jazz by Dewdrop Society. The bar turns into a cash bar at 8:00PM, but you should certainly stick around for more music, dancing, and revelry.
The Venue
2013 marks the introduction of a brand new venue, Greenwood Park. We’ll convert this 13,000 square foot South Slope beer garden into a bourbon garden! Bocce ball courts will become a dedicated corn toss area, and we’ll still have room for a tricycle race track, stage, dance floor, hat-making station, and areas that can only be defined once mint juleps are in our system.
